Signing the Rank Wall
Each time one of our cadets is promoted to a new rank, they have a chance to sign the Rank Wall in front of their peers, teachers, and parents. This unique moment shines a spotlight on our cadets each time they achieve a new rank.
It also provides visible evidence for our cadets that many other cadets before them have achieved what they are trying to achieve.
Commander’s Coin
This tradition is derived from the Air Force tradition of “Coining”.
Every once in a while, a cadet or Senior Member does something that stands out as an extraordinary example of our squadron motto, the CAP Core Values, or our school's LIFE Values. When this occurs, our squadron commander awards them one of his Commander’s Coins, or he “Coins them.” This is a special occasion and the cadet or senior members gets to keep the coin as a reminder of their achievement/special recognition.
Signing the Flying Wall
Each time one of our cadets completes an orientation flight in a single-engine or large transport aircraft, their photo is added to our flying wall, and they can sign it. The photos remain on display to show all cadets that their peers and fellow students have achieved what they aspire to achieve.
