  • Please have the student request an application from the Main Office. The completed application should them be returned to the Main Office. You will receive a notice once/if the student is approved to join the CAP Program.

  • At the moment, the Civil Air Program for our unit (NY-824) is only available for active students of Buffalo Creek Academy.

  • Active Buffalo Creek Academy (BCA) students participate in the CAP program for free, the school and our supporting organization (Friends of Buffalo Creek, Inc.) sponsors all cadets. This includes meals, field trips, uniforms, and transportation.

  • The Civil Air Patrol Room is located on our school campus in our administration building at 514 South Park Ave. Drill activities will occur at the First Ward Community Center (FWCC). On drill days, cadets will be transported to the FWCC for the drill activity, and then back to BCA campus for dismissal.

CAP, in its Total Force role, operates a fleet of 550 aircraft and performs about 85 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited with saving an average of 70 lives annually. CAP’s 58,000 members nationwide also perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies.

Its Airmen additionally play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to more than 24,000 young people currently participating in the CAP cadet program.
