The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Program is a nationally recognized program which allows young people, starting in grade 6 to advance their skills and discover their passions in the areas of leadership, aerospace education, character development, drill and ceremonies, teamwork, recketry, drone piloting, single engine aircraft piloting and much much more.
Very similar to the Air Force JROTC program, the CAP program is based on US Air Force military customs and courtesies. Also similar to AFJROTC, the cadets wear Force styled uniforms as a part of the program. Cadets have a chance to earn ribbons, medals, and even have the chance to earn the private pilot's licence.
This program allows students to travel the country to attend CAP events and meet other children from all over the USA. What's more, parents can join CAP and participate if they wish!
